New South Wales Premier Barry O’Farrell’s visit to the Aboriginal Housing Company in Redfern marks another milestone in the redevelopment of ‘The Block’.
The Pemulwuy redevelopment project has now been approved by the Department of Planning and Infrastructure!
Mr O’Farrell said that “This approval will allow for the creation of a vibrant new housing, community and cultural project close to transport and the University of Sydney. This part of the city has been crying out for renewal for many years and it is fantastic this long-running issue has now been resolved”.
The exciting new changes that will be implemented with the project include a 42-unit student housing complex, 62 affordable houses, a gym, a child care centre, a community gallery, shops and a 115-space underground car park.
