Media Release 20th Feb 2015: Trespass Notice

The AHC has provided a trespass notice to the protesters at the Block. The AHC respects the right of people to protest peacefully and legally. However, these protesters are on AHC owned land, and have been occupying the site since the middle of last year.

The Aboriginal Housing Company is working to protect the Block — to make sure it remains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned and controlled into the future.

The AHC has a viable and sustainable plan to provide:

  • 62 affordable housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Childcare for 60 placements
  • Commercial and retail space

We do now need to be able to get on with the Pemulwuy Project so that we can ensure an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander controlled future.
